Le Mans, 7th June - After 19 hours two Ferraris 333 SP are still racing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Team Doyle-Risi's car, driven by Wayne Taylor, Eric Van de Poele and Fermin Velez, is 9th and 1st of the protos, 14 laps down from the leaders, Boutsen-Kelleners-Lees' Toyota GT One.

The Ferrari F 333 SP was a major protagonist in two of the world's motor racing events last weekend. At Brno (Czech Republic) the Ferrari barchetta won the second round of the ISRS series with a team made up of the Italian Vincenzo Sospiri and the Frenchman, Emmanuel Collard.

While Eddie Irvine conluded his testing at Magny-Cours, Michael Schumacher began a new session at Fiorano. The German driver did 29 laps from 5 to 9 pm, working on the set-up of his F 300. His best time was 1m 03.186s. Testing will continue today.

Dr. Steve Earle, Garden Ridge, TX., won the first of two Ferrari Challenge races at the Texas World Speedway track, but defending Champion Tom Papadopoulos of Forest Hills, NY, came back to win the second and maintain his lead in the 1998 Ferrari Challenge championship.

Barcelona, Sunday 10th May Michael Schumacher finished in third place, while Eddie Irvine retired after a collision with Fisichella. Irvine made a great start and was up in third place, but Schumacher dropped to fifth. On lap 25 Irvine and Fisichella both made pit stops. Schumacher made his first stop on lap 27 and rejoined in third place ahead of Irvine and Fisichella who collided on the following lap, both cars stopping in the gravel.
Barcelona, Saturday 9th May Michael Schumacher will start the Spanish Grand Prix from the second row of the grid in third place (1m 21.785s - 11 laps) and Eddie Irvine is on the third row in sixth place (1m 22.305s - 12 laps.) Neither car had any technical problems in qualifying. In the morning session, Michael Schumacher stopped on the track with an electrical problem.
