Challenge Ferrari Papadopoulos wins at Sebring

Sebring, 15th March - Tom Papadopoulos has won the first round of this season's North American series of the Ferrari Challenge, the series for Ferrari owner-drivers at the wheel of a version of the F 355. Both practice and the race were run in heavy rain. In qualifying, Papadopoulos put almost a second between himself and Steve Earle and was around two and half seconds ahead of Carlos Hank Jr. At the start, Earle used his greater experience to get by Papadopoulos who succumbed to a spin as he went through a puddle. The young man from New York did not lose heart and took off in pursuit of the leader. Ten minutes from the end, Earle also spun handing the lead to Papadopoulos who kept it to the flag. Earle finished second with Jim McCormick on the third step of the podium.
