Thanks to increased power (an additional 10 hp) and a 100 kg reduction in weight (USA 70 kg), the new range-leading Gallardo Superleggera is even more dynamic than the already very sporty Gallardo. The weight/power ratio of the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera is only 2.5 kg/hp, which puts it unquestionably at the top.

Automobili Lamborghini anxiously began 2006 with the highly anticipated unveiling of the “Lamborghini Miura Concept,” a modern interpretation of the Lamborghini Miura. Currently celebrating its 40th Anniversary, the Miura was originally designed by Marcello Gandini and was first publicly presented at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show by Ferruccio Lamborghini and Nuccio Bertone. To this day, the Miura remains one of the most beautiful cars ever created.

Automobili Lamborghini has unveiled its new, exclusive model, the "Gallardo Nera", which is based on the Gallardo Coupé Model Year 07. This special edition model, limited to 185 units, is an impressive showcase for the extensive individualisation options offered by Lamborghini's personalisation service 'ad personam', which transforms each and every Lamborghini into a unique vehicle.

The limited Special Edition is richly equipped with standard features such as a rear view camera, which in combination with the build in multimedia screen facilitates parking. The sports suspensions with the sports steering wheel and in combination with the P Zero Corsa tire (specifically developed by Pirelli for more ambitious driving) are all standard features on the Special Edition. The long list of standard equipment comprises also an exclusive car cover.

As with every Lamborghini, the Gallardo Spyder adopts the stylistic principles of purity, athleticism and sharpness. The Spyder is not just an open-top version of the Coupé, it sets forth the tradition as seen with Murcielago Coupé and Roadster creating a self standing model.

Ferruccio Lamborghini - born under the zodiac sign of Taurus - when he founded the famous super car company, that since then bears his name, gave it to the symbol of the fighting bull. Later, in the "60s decade, when the Miura was introduced, he named the car after the famous bull's race, and this practice became a tradition for the House of the Bull. Honoring this tradition, the Management of Automobili Lamborghini have decided to baptize their latest model with the name of a fighting bull's breed: The Gallardo.

In the late afternoon of October 5th 1879, after a fierce fight in the arena of Cordoba, a bull named Murcielago from Joaquin del Val di Navarra's farm, had his life spared by the famous matador Rafael Molina "Lagartijo".

The Diablo 6.0 sets a new benchmark for high performance sports cars. The only comparison can be made to the Diablo MY 99 with increase of the engine capacity of 285 cc to 5,992 cc, delivering 20 hp more, reaching then a maximum power of 550 hp. The torque is even better with 620 Nm at 5,500 rpm instead of 605 Nm compared to lest year's model.

The Lamborghini Supertrophy is a monomarque championship held every year on the most famous race tracks, mainly in Europe. Since 1996 the cars competing in the Lamborghini Supertrophy were the Diablo SVR, a special version of the DIablo SV model adapted for racing. After four years of competition the Diablo SVR has proved the extreme reliability of the Lamborghini engines which could stand four racing seasons with no problems. Quite an achievement for an engine designed for road use and brought to the track with no modifications.

After three years of making minor adjustments to the standard Diablo, Lamborghini decided in 1993 that a second, even more specialized version of the car could add new customers to the brand.
